What a 96.60% RTP means

RTP is the share of all money staked that a game pays back over a very large number of plays. In the base game it's 96.60–96.70%, so the house keeps 3.30–3.40% on average.

In practice: if players stake 100,000 in total on the base game, it's designed to pay back about 96,600 of it across all of them. Your own session can land far above or below that, because RTP only settles over millions of plays. It tells you the price of playing, not what you'll win today.

For comparison, many online slots sit around 96%. Candy Swipe Matchwin is a little above that line, but behind some of Coreffect's arcade titles such as 3D Plinko 10000x at 97.89%.

Why you see both 96.60% and 96.70%

Stake's game page shows 96.70% in its badge and 96.60% in its rules text. Both are right: the game gives the base game and Extra Luck a range of 96.60–96.70% rather than a single figure. SlotCatalog lists 96.60%, the bottom of that range.

Does buying the bonus change the RTP?

Slightly, and not in your favour. The Ice Bonus buy and Enhanced Moves return 96.60%, the bottom of the base game's range. Multi Mayhem returns 96.40%, the lowest figure in the game. Buys change how the return arrives, not how much of it there is. Prices and a calculator are on the bonus page.

High volatility in practice

Stake rates the game as high volatility. That describes how the RTP is paid out: in fewer, larger wins rather than many small ones. The bonus menu rates Enhanced Moves as high volatility and Multi Mayhem as medium.

  • Each chain is worth 0.05x and the first chain of every play is free, so a short play often returns little or nothing.
  • Most of the value sits in long chains, stacked multiplier candies and the Ice Bonus.
  • Every swap is a paid play, so quick swiping adds up.

The 49,999.95x max win

The overall cap is 49,999.95x your bet, and only Multi Mayhem can reach it. Here's that ceiling at different bets:

Maximum possible win by bet size (Multi Mayhem)
BetMax win
1.0049,999.95
10.00499,999.50
100.004,999,995.00
500.0024,999,975.00

Where the odd number comes from

Divide 49,999.95 by the 0.05x a chain pays and you get 999,999: the equivalent of one million chains, minus the free first one. The base game's lower cap of 49,519.50x follows the same 0.05x steps.

How likely is it?

Very unlikely in any one session. The cap exists so the game has a defined maximum, not because it's a realistic goal. Coreffect doesn't publish max-win odds.
